​​The Academy of Speech and Drama was founded by Lucy Elliott Ashton, an actor, director, writer and teacher. The academy was built from a strong passion for drama and communication and a belief that everyone's lives can be enriched with the skills learnt in a drama class. Our aim is not to make 'stars', but to help develop the confidence and imaginations of young people and to provide them with the tools to be successful and happy at school, at work and in life.

We offer fun, professional classes in speech and drama for all ages.

Our students have the opportunity to take part in drama festivals every year as well as take solo or group LAMDA exams in acting, verse and prose or public speaking.
